Emily Browning and Juno Temple being adorable in La Union, Chile (April 30, 2012) [x]
“I think it’s really important that you don’t because that’s best left to people’s imaginations. Her dance is meant to be something that’s so magical that it puts you into a trance, and it takes you into a different world. Nothing could live up to that imagination. I think that if you ever actually saw that dance, it would take away a lot of the magic and the mystery.”
Emily Browning on why we never got to see Babydoll actually dance on the film
“The words ‘baby doll’ make you immediately think of something really fragile, but she’s not at all. That’s what was so cool to me about this character—she’s actually pretty tough, with an unexpected stoicism.”
Emily Browning on Babydoll
“I hate the word normal. What does it mean, anyway? There are so many actresses trying to prove to everyone, ‘Look at me, I’m so normal!’ But my life isn’t normal. I travel the world, I work long hours, and when I’m not working I can spend weeks not doing anything at all. It’s not the same as a lot of other people’s lives. But when I go home and hang out with my friends and my family, they’re not affected by any of this. It’s not like I have a higher status in my friendship group or my family. No matter what parts I land, they’ll continue to take the piss out of me like they always have.”
